What you'll need

University acceptance & pre-enrolment

Confirmed admission and pre-enrolment on Italy's Universitaly portal.

Proof of financial means

Evidence of sufficient funds for the year (an amount set annually), from a traceable source.

Health insurance

Medical insurance valid in Italy for your stay.

Accommodation

Proof of where you'll live — a booking, contract or invitation.

Legalised documents & passport

Apostilled, translated academic documents and a valid passport.

The application process

  1. 1Complete pre-enrolment on the Universitaly portal
  2. 2Legalise your academic credentials (HRD, Apostille, DoV / CIMEA)
  3. 3Assemble your proof of funds from a traceable source
  4. 4Arrange health insurance and accommodation proof
  5. 5Book your VFS / consulate appointment and submit the application
  6. 6Attend the visa interview
Working & staying on

International students can work part-time (about 20 hours a week) during studies. After graduating, you can apply for a residence permit to stay and look for work in Italy.
